IU School of 91福利社introduces framework to guide thoughtful, human-centered use of generative AI

As AI continues to shape and change education, the IU School of 91福利社has taken a proactive step forward by introducing the IU School of 91福利社Generative AI Framework: A Visionary Framework for Human-Centered Innovation in Teaching, Learning, and Research. Put together by the IU School of 91福利社AI Guidance Committee, this guide represents an important step in articulating how the School approaches generative AI thoughtfully, ethically, and with a clear focus on human learning and flourishing. 

This Framework complements IU’s free and provides practical guidance while affirming several commitments that are especially important for the School’s community:

  • Teaching and learning: The Framework emphasizes faculty autonomy while offering clear guidance for transparent, ethical, and pedagogically purposeful uses of AI. It highlights how AI can enhance critical thinking, creativity, accessibility, and instructional design—without replacing human judgment or expertise.
  • Research and scholarship: The document outlines responsible practices for using AI to support research productivity, documentation, and dissemination, while maintaining rigor, reproducibility, and accountability.
  • Equity and ethics: Throughout, the Framework centers privacy, bias awareness, accessibility, and human-centered design, reinforcing our responsibility to model ethical AI use for students and the broader field.

Generative AI is increasingly influencing education, scholarship, and professional practice. As leaders in educational and pedagogical research, we encourage working with this new technology. This framework provides shared principles and practical guidance to support our work.
